Dark Laughs: Jana Montorio’s Creative World

When Jana, a playwright and screenwriter, asked for a personal branding photoshoot, I knew it wouldn’t be the usual “writer at a desk” session.

After some brainstorming, we decided to focus on what truly inspires her: walks with her dog Otto and the garden where she creates her own little world, often bringing back big branches from her walks. What’s their purpose? You’d have to ask her, but I can tell you they have a way of unlocking a certain energy.

Her stories often balance horror twists with unexpected laughs, and we wanted to reflect that too.

Not the easiest brief, right? Well, it was just before Halloween, so the mood was definitely set. By the end of the shoot, Jana’s energy was flowing, revealing a little bit of spooky, a little bit of funny, and a whole lot of her authentic self.

Her grandfather—an artist and major influence—was also part of the story, with his picture featured in one of the shots.

Say Hello! I’d love to hear about our next project!
